Year 3Welcome to Year 3 |
Our class teacher for the 2025/26 academic year is Mr Carrington (long-term supply). Our teaching assistant is Miss Yates.
In Year Three, we cover many exciting topics to enhance children’s knowledge and understanding in-line with The National Curriculum 2014. British Values also underpin our curriculum.
Our key topic areas this year are:
Autumn 1 - Would you prefer to live in the stone age, bronze age or Iron age?
Autumn 2 - What did the Ancient Greeks do for us?
Spring 1 - Why do people live near volcanoes?
Spring 2 -Who lives in Antarctica?
Summer 1 - How have children’s lives changed?
Summer 2 - Are all Settlements the same?
PE
We will have our PE lessons on a Friday. It is essential that children remember to bring their outdoor PE kit in on a weekly basis.
Homework and Spellings
Homework will be sent home at the start of each half term. It includes nine fun and varied activities covering subjects like P.E., English, Maths, Science, and other areas of the curriculum. Homework should be completed and returned every Friday.
We also encourage children to read regularly at home and use Times Tables Rock Stars and Spelling Shed to practise their Year 3/4 spellings and improve their times table speed and accuracy.
Key Dates and Events
Our Class Dojo page is regularly updated with key dates, important announcements, and useful information. It’s the best way to stay connected and stay informed about everything happening in school.
